ROYAL HOSPITAL

Physical Rehab and
Sub-acute Facility

Royal Rehabilitation Hospital is physical rehabilitation and sub-acute facility in the vicinity of several leading hospitals in Pietermaritzburg and surrounding areas. The hospital was established based on the vision of bridging the gap between acute, sub-acute and home care. The facility caters for the needs of patients who do not need the conventional in-patient treatment an acute hospital provides but in a more relaxed and home-like setting.

Royal Hospital "bridges the gap” between acute, sub-acute and home care. The facility caters for the needs of patients who do not essentially need the conventional in-patient treatment an acute hospital provides, but a more relaxed almost home-like setting.

Our Services Include

  • Training of activities of daily living such as eating, washing, dressing, toileting, and basic meal preparation are often priorities for patients to achieve before returning home.
  • Assessment and early rehabilitation of visual and cognitive impairment
  • Prescribing and procuring wheelchairs, cushions, assistive devices, bath aids and other devices required to facilitate safe and independent function once discharged.
